EVET Project

The Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) was a central partner in this European Union commissioned project which addresses quality assurance in VET organisations.

Quality in Vocational Education and Training (VET) (including adult education) is one of the central issues of the Copenhagen Process towards a more trust-based, transparent and quality assurance in VET. The penetrability of the education system and its effect on the labour market is a critical factor for competitive national economies. There is a need for instruments, procedures and methods for improving VET systems, this can be achieved by contributing to the design of a national approach and use it to facilitating the use of the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework- EQARF. Due to its discourse-based total quality concepts, the EFQM Excellence Model is the most appropriate quality scheme, which has been chosen by the EVET team to implement and improve quality in training provider’s organisations.

The IIE played a pivotal role in the development and implementation of EFQM bases systems for use in SME training and education provider’s organisations. The IIE has been granted licence to adapt the GOA software system for use in the Irish market and will be carrying out “field tests” for this software in 2012 / 2013
